The ID.3 is Volkswagen’s all-electric answer to modern mobility. With its impressive range and charging capacity, this car is designed to make your everyday commute both sustainable and enjoyable.

Design

Exterior
The ID.3 impresses with its classic, compact design and sporty silhouette. The long wheelbase and short overhangs not only enable a spacious interior, they also make the vehicle especially manoeuvrable – ideal for driving in the city. The full-width bumper, the extended wheel housings and the two-colour design with black roof and tailgate emphasise, together with the two-part rear light cluster, the striking lines in the body construction. The aerodynamically-shaped air intake grilles at the front can also improve the range.  With the optional fixture for attaching a bicycle carrier and up to 75 kg drawbar load, the ID.3 is set up to transport e-bikes.

The exterior package offers additional lighting elements for even more expression, convenience and safety: IQ.LIGHT - LED matrix headlights light up your way using the dynamic main-beam control without blinding oncoming traffic, 3D LED tail light clusters with dynamic turn signals and light strips between the headlights. Tinted rear and side windows round off the overall look. There is an optional panoramic glass sunroof covering almost the entire width of the roof. The tinted glass keeps temperatures pleasant when the sun is out. For more shade, you can also use voice control to deploy the sun blind.

Interior
The ID.3 offers plenty of space for up to five people and numerous practical functions, such as its foldable, asymmetrically divided rear bench seat with centre armrest and a through-loading option.
Many parts of the spacious, expansive interior, with its contrasting decorative stitching, is made of soft surfaces and high-quality, recycled materials (headliner, floor mats, seat covers and door panels).
Additional convenience is provided by the 32.8-cm (12.9-inch) touch display and a multifunction steering wheel with touch controls and vibration feedback. The lighting mood can also be adjusted to your preferences with the ambient lighting in 10 colours (30 optionally).

The interior package with ergoActive front seats (heated, with adjustable lumbar supports and massage function), 30-colour ambient lighting, “ArtVelours Eco” microfleece seat centre panels and augmented reality head-up display (projects important information directly into the field of vision).
The Interior Package Plus, incl. TopSports seats, complements the interior package with top-of-the-range sports seats – in ID. design and with integrated head restraints.

Infotainment

Voice assistant
The new “IDA” voice assistant enables you to operate your infotainment system conveniently by speaking. Select, for example, the correct station, a desiredaddress book entry or a telephone number. 
Start the function by saying “Hello IDA” and make the vehicle an intelligent conversation partner. The voice assistant also understands open phrases such as “I'm cold” or “Where can I find Japanese restaurants in Berlin?”. It asks questions and can be interrupted. 
In addition, IDA uses digital microphones to recognise whether the driver or the front passenger is speaking, for example to fulfill specific air conditioning wishes. The voice assistant can also be seen visually on the central display and interactions can be tracked using graphics. 
A very clever feature: From now on, you can access the artificial intelligence tool ChatGPT whilst travelling - to get more information, do research or simply for your entertainment.

Driving dynamics and convenience
You can enjoy even more driving dynamics and comfort with the Adaptive Chassis Control DCC Package
The progressive steering system enhances driving dynamics and gives you an even more direct driving feeling, especially on winding roads.
The adaptive chassis control system DCC allows you to adapt the chassis to your needs – you can choose from different driving profiles.
The contents of the equipment package can be found in the Configurator.
Boost the system performance and thereby increase the acceleration of your Volkswagen ID. With the “Performance Upgrade”, found within ID.3's infotainment system, you can increase the maximum performance of your ID.3 and thus achieve greater acceleration.
Increase of the maximum system power from 150kW to 170kW
Improved acceleration (0-100 km/h) from 7,6s to 6,6s (ID.3 Pro) or 8,2s to 7,1s (ID.3 Pro S)
Please note that the increased acceleration capacity can lead to a change in driving behavior, e.g. when starting off.

Technology

Infotainment
With the large 32.8-cm (12.9-inch) touch display, you can intuitively control all infotainment applications of your ID.3 as well as many digital services from Volkswagen. The DAB+ radio with 4+1 loudspeakers ensures digitally clear sound
The augmented reality head-up display projects driving data and navigation instructions onto the windshield – making them clearly visible in your field of vision. (You can find this in the Configurator under the optional interior packages.)
As part of optional Assistance Package “IQ.DRIVE” the ID. Light supports you with visual instructions – e.g. with voice control, incoming phone calls or hazard warnings. It gives you directions using the navigation system. 
The optional equipment package offers you even more Infotainment:
The Comfort Package with the navigation system “Discover Pro”, inductive telephone interface “Comfort”, heated steering wheel, seat heating, “AirCare Climatronic” with 2-zone climate control and “Smart Climate” (for specific temperature functions such as “Warm feet” or “Clear view”).

Heat Pump
With the optional heat pump, the interior of your ID. can be warmed up with less energy than with traditional heating. This can have a positive effect on the range. 
Compared to a petrol-driven car, the drive components of an electric vehicle do not produce enough waste heat to adequately heat the vehicle interior. The solution: a highly efficient heat pump system compresses refrigerant under high pressure. The heat produced is used to heat up flowing cold air. This uses less energy from the battery for the high-voltage heater and can deliver greater range over electric vehicles without a heat pump.
The heat pump uses significantly less climate-impacting refrigerant R744 (compared to fluorinated refrigerant). Thanks to its excellent efficiency, it is a more energy-efficient way to heat an electric vehicle in cold ambient temperatures.

Driver Assistance Systems

Connected Travel Assist
With the optional Assistance Package IQ.DRIVE, Connected Travel Assist actively helps you to stay in lane. In addition, it helps you to maintain a previously set maximum speed and distance to the vehicle in front.
Connected Travel Assist can also actively assist you when changing lanes on the motorway. To do this, your Volkswagen must be equipped with Park Assist and Side Assist.
In addition, you also benefit from predictive cruise control and cornering assistance: your vehicle can react to upcoming bends and roundabouts and adapt its speed to the current traffic rules. For a more relaxed journey.
The experiences of hundreds of thousands of Volkswagen drivers are compiled anonymously in the online data. If this online data is available, Connected Travel Assist can keep you in the lane even without lane separators and better adapt the vehicle’s speed to the road layout. This makes assisted driving feel more natural. 
Connected Travel Assist requires an active internet connection in order to use this online data, requiring a separate contract, a Volkswagen ID user account and a We Connect or VW Connect contract. Activation takes place via the infotainment system shop (see: Swarm data for Travel Assist).*

Area View
Area View is shown as an example on the ID.5 Pro, model year: 2022. May contain optional equipment that can be deselected. For a final and detailed description of the functions, only the information in the operating instructions relevant to your vehicle is authoritative. Area View only works within the system limits. The driver must be ready to override the assistance system at any time and is not released from his responsibility to drive the vehicle carefully. The optional “Area View” system makes parking and manoeuvring easier for you:

Four cameras show you a 360° view of your vehicle, curbs, parking lines and obstacles – clearly arranged on the infotainment display. Area View also shows you areas that are outside of your direct field of vision – so you can even see “around the corner”.*

Side & Lane Assist
The optional Side Assist system helps you to identify potentially dangerous situations when changing lanes: a warning light in the exterior mirror shows you that a vehicle is in your blind spot or is approaching quickly from behind. When using the turn signals, Side Assist automatically analyses the position and speed of the other vehicles – and warns you in good time.*
The Rear Traffic Alert system increases your safety when reversing: it can warn you of vehicles crossing your path of traffic . If you do not react in time, the system can intervene independently and reduce or even avoid a collision by initiating an emergency brake procedure. *
The Exit Warning system helps you avoid dangerous situations when leaving your vehicle: it can detect when another vehicle is approaching from behind and warn you about it before getting out.*
From 60 km/h, the Lane Assist system can detect whether your vehicle is unintentionally leaving its lane. It keeps your vehicle in its lane using automatic steering corrections
If you nevertheless go over the lane limit, it will also warn you with a vibration in the steering wheel.*

Park Assist
The optional Park Assist Plus system can tell you not only whether a parking space is big enough as you drive by – it also parks for you. Up to a speed of 40 km/h, it will search for suitable parallel parking spaces – parking bays up to a speed of 20 km/h. Once you have decided on one of the parking spaces found, you can start the parking process. Park Assist Plus takes care of everything for you: steering, accelerator and brakes. All you have to do is monitor the parking process. The Park Assist Plus can also exit parallel parking spaces.*
The optional Park Assist Pro makes it easier for you to get in and out of your car - without having to squeeze into tight spaces. It offers you the option of starting automatic parking or reversing via the Park Assist Pro app. It also offers you all the benefits of Park Assist Plus.*
Memory function for Park Assist
With the optional Assistance Package IQ.DRIVE, the Park Assist system is expanded with the memory function, making difficult parking situations easier for you: Your vehicle can store individual parking processes and carry them out independently – ideal for garages and carports. 
You only have to park or exit a parking space yourself once and store the process. The memory function can then repeat the process itself and you only have to monitor this. 
You can save a total of five different parking processes.*
In conjunction with the optional Park Assist Pro, you can also operate the parking process remotely.

Automatic Cruise Control and Front Assist
As optional, the Automatic Cruise Control (ACC) system can help you maintain a previously set maximum speed and the distance to the vehicle in front. 
In addition, ACC enables predictive speed adjustment and cornering assistance: your vehicle can react automatically to the upcoming course of the road and adapt its speed to the traffic regulations. For a more relaxed drive.

Front Assist emergency braking system
The emergency braking system Front Assist with pedestrian and cyclist detection can warn you of accidents involving pedestrians, cyclists and other vehicles and, if necessary, automatically apply the emergency brakes for you. *

Traffic hazard alert (Car2X)
The available traffic hazard alert can warn you, for example, of construction sites or approaching emergency vehicles.

In addition, vehicles equipped with the traffic hazard alert system can also communicate with each other and thus draw attention to themselves in the event of a breakdown or accident. The communication uses Car2X technology via WLAN. *

Emergency Assist
If, during a journey, you are unable to steer the vehicle due to an impairment or emergency situation, the Emergency Assist system (part of the optional Assistance Package IQ.DRIVE) can recognise this situation. The system will first attempt to reestablish its connection to you. If this is not successful, it will bring your vehicle to a standstill to prevent potential accidents or reduce their severity. *
